The owners of this custom home in Greensboro’s College Hill neighborhood had a unique opportunity: to build a new house in the back yard of their existing, historic home. Our design incorporates a modern, open plan while respecting the architecture of the surrounding neighborhood. The main level serves as the everyday space for the owners, while the second floor can function as a second, separate living unit if desired. Details such as the sliding barn door and salvaged antique mantel give the home a relaxed, lived-in atmosphere - perfect for gatherings of friends and neighbors.
